This is a real-world monthly forensic challenge from a collection of actual penetrations. The scenarios and vulnerabilities will cover wireless hacking, web attacks, Cisco, Mac OS X, insider attacks, outsider attacks, SQL Server vulnerabilities, Windows, Novell & UNIX, SSH, PHP, and more. Each month the challenges will range from easy, moderate, hard, to expert.

You'll be given the following background and evidence material with illustrations and configurations:

  •    I. Alert
  •    II. Background information
  •    III. Evidence (i.e. logs, trails, configuration changes)
  •    IV. Forensic interrogation

You'll be required to provide a forensic matrix solving each hack attack, including:

  •    Problem solution to each interrogation question (i.e. when and how the hack attack took place)

March Forensic Challenge

 

To enter simply send your solution via e-mail to: contest@tigertools.net. Entries will be reviewed by a third party--beginning 11:59p CST--on the last day of each month. The solution will be posted and winners will be notified (via e-mail) during the first week of the next month.

 
As the challenges become more difficult,
the prizes become more desirable.
